So 150g per missed illustration? No thanks. That's just too steep of a price in my opinion. If you're going to price it that high at least give us another option as well. I'll just not finish this event.

Ok, so I've just completed the event. My last complaint about this year's event was mainly about the exploration map, so now here's my opinion on the actual episode we got to play and the new outfits and companions.

Companions

Reading other people's comments though, I feel like I just got lucky. Normally I don't care much for companions, I'm too lazy to hatch a new one, but the Greifmar might be my second favourite out of all the eggs I own (second only to the beautiful Rowtsya- I have a weakness for that colour scheme and 2018 Valentine's event's items). Greifmar really does look like a companion from a Halloween event. Can't comment on the Pterocorvus- I've only had it appear during exploration once and I failed to catch it.

- I can see what people mean when they've said that the writing was reminiscent of a fanfiction. The story itself had potential but the typos and how rushed it was didn't do it justice. A lot of the information given to us came too late or like an afterthought. Also, Ezarel telling us at the end of the episode that Furie is an erinyes and technically a good person/creature/character kind of ruined all that suspense for me. The episode centred a lot about our distrust of this old cloaked hag and telling us that she's a good character at the end of it ruined all my headcanons for her. It underwhelmed me. I don't know how to explain it well, English isn't my first language, but sometimes there's more fun in being left in the dark than there is when everything is explained to you, you know?
- As aforementioned, information was given out too late or as an afterthought. I wish Furie could've been given a better chance to explain herself and explain why she wanted to stop Cornelia (without the story's writers making characters butt in or only giving Furie the chance to speak when there's actually no time for her to fully explain herself), and then we should've been allowed to choose whether or not we trust her, than the story's writers automatically making us wary of her. The reason I enjoy multiple choice answer games is because they allow me to choose how to interact with characters, and I didn't really get that with Furie without it affecting my chances of getting the illustrations.   
- Wish there was an option to NOT save Miiko. There wasn't. HUGE con.
- There was no explanation at the end of the episode whether Cornelia's monologue was embellished in a way to over-victimise her or whether it was all true and Miiko made her alchemy out to be bad when it wasn't. I understand that she's a Necromancer now and that "bad" alchemy is probably her expertise now, but I think (I think? I will admit, I did skim through some of the longer dialogue so I could get to the disappointing action scene faster) the story failed to explain to us whether she became a Necromancer after Miiko banished her or if she was banished because she became one. Cornelia made it sound like she wandered around after being banished and only then became a Necromancer, but that's only one side of the story and I'd like to give Miiko the benefit of the doubt. However, if it's true that Miiko banished her out of what is essentially Miiko's own jealousy and ambition, this further makes me dislike the kitsune and further made me wanna leave her to rot in the Underworld.

+ Cornelia, my gorgeous murderous waifu, hmu and allow me to help you kill Miiko.
+ Like, ok, Cornelia is beautiful- I will accept ZERO arguments thank you- and her being a Necromancer makes me forgive her for being a bit unhinged. If I had to wander around after being banished by a self-insert character and only had the Damned and my pet birb for company, I'd be whacky, too. I like her background and her motive for becoming a villain, despite how badly it had been explained in the episode, and I hope to see more of her in the future. MCL Uni got Priya's route, I want Eldarya to have Cornelia's route, even if it's a Halloween exclusive route. It's that simple.
+ I've missed playing episodes. I spend all my maana in the market and I never have enough left to progress in the main story, so being given an episode that's not only free to play but where I get free outfits makes me happy. I love when events have episodes to go along with them. Alchemy events were awful, and exploration only events would be boring.
+ I loved the artwork for this. The abandoned town square in the Village of the Damned? The Demonic Altar? Cornelia? Beautiful.
+ No interactions with Miiko. Sure, I had to save her despite me not wanting to, but at least I didn't have to talk to her. For once in my life I'm looking at the bright side here.

Oufits and Backgrounds

- A little bitter that not even one background can be found through exploration. I can't afford all three for 900 maana, I'll have to stick to just one, but choosing between Village of the Damned and the Demonic Altar is hard.
- I'm not gonna talk about the previous year's bank exclusive outfit being available for free through exploration again, I've already complained about that. Instead, this year's bank exclusive outfit is a little underwhelming. I feel like the Angel theme is better off being reserved for Valentine's events- calling this year's outfit "Fallen Aengel" doesn't make it spooky or Halloween-esque. I know that Halloween is about dressing up and that dressing up as an angel is extremely popular,  but we already had some angel wings in a previous Halloween event and also in Valentine's event/s. I feel like Beemoov had the chance to actually blow our minds and create the best Halloween outfit ever and they just decided to recycle the same old angel theme again. I get it, angels are popular, it's a reference to the MC's heritage, but does it make me wanna whip my wallet out and throw it at y'all? No. Not at all. If you had offered Cornelia's outfit I would've considered getting it, but still... £9 is too expensive for an outfit and some gold coins that allow me to buy an item or two max.
- Also, the bank exclusive isn't even drawn well. It's very flat looking, lacks detail and depth. The material on the left (the side with the longer skirt bit) has a strong texture layered over it, but the tears and fraying of the material is too perfect and neat. With a textured material like that I'd expect more fraying when it tears. The hair lacks volume and looks greasy by how flat it's laying on the scalp on the side that's pulled back behind the ear. I like the idea of duochrome wings, but the free wings we've had in the past have all been better drawn than these.
- I will talk about this again though- y u no do golden blonde hair anymore??????? I don't want peach blonde. I don't want pale blonde. I want GOLDEN blonde. I know y'all can do it. I have 27 golden blonde hairstyles in my closet right now. Y'all can definitely do it and y'all have done it in the past, but Sibylle and Samara aren't available in a golden blonde tone? Seriously, why?
- I dislike the handprints on the Necromancer dress. Wish that could've been removable. Also if you choose the cream colour scheme for the Necromancer outfit, the skirt seems to look like a different tone of cream from the corset and the lace top with the long sleeves? Colour consistency isn't a strong point with some of these items.
- Also wish I could've chosen to see the items on their own and/or within the outfit when choosing which colour I would like. Choosing the Samara hairstyle was a shot in the dark- the veil obstructed it and made choosing it a little difficult for me, personally.
- When are we going to get new mouths? Or some more makeup bits or more tattoos? You only give us three new outfits, including the bank exclusive one, and you couldn't make up some quick and simple blushes or mouths to just throw in as a nice surprise on the exploration map? Meh. 

Pros:

+ Beautiful backgrounds. Love the attention to detail.
+ Sibylle is my new favourite hairstyle. Sad it's not available in my favourite colour, but the style itself is gorgeous and I'm out on a mission to collect as many different colours of it as I can.
+ I like the Fortune Teller outfit. I like the velvet texture of the dress, and I like how the flowy shawl/robe is in two different pieces so you can layer it well with your other avatar's items and that you can actually use two different colour variations when choosing to wear both the bottom and top layer.

In conclusion, the episode had potential but awful writing ruined it. Mediocre outfits, have seen better in the past. Liked the hairstyles though. Greifmar the companion is really cool, but Beemoov is keeping mum and hasn't cleared up whether the answer choices in the episode were randomised. Cornelia is a babe and my future wife. Loadsa grammar mistakes in this review, me don't care.

Ahhhhh this started on my birthday and I'm so happy with the event! One of my absolute favorites so far. I was surprised to see that I got 2 of the 3 illustrations, since I didn't expect getting any at all in all honesty. Pleasantly surprised! Additionally, I can't get enough of the costumes and companions. Amazing!

I am super disappointed in the bonus companion being GC..

And the gold required is awful. I'm sure the high price is due to Alchemy, but I know so few people who even bother with alchemy because it's overpriced and poorly balanced.

Ahh.. I got 2/3 pics and the one I missed had only one incorrect. I wish the price changed depending on how many correct answers you got.

Anyways, the art was good and the story was nice. The sprite of the necromancer was probably my favourite thing out of this.

@LiPali I agree, Cornelia's character is well-planned and interesting! I hope to see more of her in the future. I also think her outfit would have made a nice addition to the event outfits, perhaps as another exploration outfit (even though it would have made a few similar parts to some privious outfits we have already had).

I thought that might be the case after seeing how inconsistent results were even with guides so unless you have the exact same levels as whoever made a guide you've got no guarantee of winning


Not only have buttmoov been lazy by not giving us a full compliment of outfits but they also made the map irrelevant by making results random and made it impossible to win the pet even if we try to help each other...for all that I have one thing to say

...I got just 1 illustration :')

Surprisingly I got 2 even though I was just speeding through it but also I didn't get the 3rd and got 2/3, really dumb we can't redo it. Seems like not many even got all 3 correct.

So... I got two out of three illustrations and wasn't even told that I had missed one until the very end.

I personally hate this year's Halloween.

The exploration map has ??/?? all over it, so I can't tell what I've gotten and still need to get, the outfits from other Halloween events are not here, the mission story was boring and had zero room for error, and if you missed an illustration, you have to pay 150 gold a piece.

So this year I'm going to say My Candy Love had the better event this year, which is crazy since Eldarya usually wins hands down with the advantage of allowing players to grab most past outfits.

I only got 2 illustrations so I missed out on an illustration AND the companion egg. This was definitely the scariest part of Halloween.

I've basically given up on Eldarya already, seems like the only thing they want is your money so no thanks xD

But I do occasionally come back for the events.

All the outfits we've had access to: Wonderful, spectacular. I adore almost everything, actually, and I would call the companion exploration luck rate fantastic. Got lots of wonderful things for my goth little self and my creepy Guardian.

I liked the story of the little event, and I hope we see more of Cornelia, because she's genuinely very interesting. I'd definitely choose her as a love interest.~

However... in the end, it seems like I'm not the only one who only got 2/3 illustrations, and 150 GC for the third?! That seems absolutely absurd. So a bit of a sour note to end on, and no extra companion for me...

So I would say, a solid 10/10 for aesthetics on this round, but also 10/10 for money hungriness.

Everybody else has pretty much said what was wrong with this event, so I don't have much to add. All I can say is to please not ruin the Christmas event too.

I managed to complete the event (all three illustrations & the Greifmar companion). I also got the Fortune Teller Outfit. But I have yet to find the Pterocorvus anywhere! After completing this event I honestly feel totally neutral over it. So thanks for the work on the things that went well...but I think the worst bit was how overpriced and random things were.

For the record...the Fallen Angel wings are 145g. Which means ONE SINGLE missed event illustration is 5g MORE than those lovely wings. That seems unbalanced and weird...way too much for an event illustration that has so many variables to even get. *shrugs*

Since this is the last day, let me point out parts that struck me the most with the low drop rate.

1. Only yesterday did I find the new companion on the map on some accounts.
2. On other accounts, it was the second time it appeared.

This is such a low drop rate. And there are probably players who still didn't find that bird. Absurd.

3. Never crossed the cat nor the goat which are supposed to be on the map (their baits are in the shop so it only made sense). Not even once.
4. My Halloween cat feeds on the apple food yet that is the only item that never dropped. I got corn and the spooky candy.
Is its drop rate so low or did they forget that apples are part of Halloween too?

So! This event.

Let me start by saying that Halloween and Christmas are my favorite events... Because of the exploration map. I like the fact the maps are so generous and you can just spam one place if you're interested in a specific item.

THE EXPLORATION
What was the exact point of dezoning the items? Or are the drop rates different between the zones? I'm guessing so because I'm finding more "big" items like dresses or pants in the 15 energy zones...
It doesn't make sense.
I was also surprised with the low drop... My companion had 170 energy points and a luck of 369 and yet I can be sure that for at least 5 explorations, he will not bring me back anything. That's a fricking lengendary/event companion???
Why do I only get either the new outfit or earrings or belts????
Since the beginning of exploration, I only got 3 dresses, 3 tops, 1 pants. Where are the big items??
The fact that the items for the previous years aren't anymore in the exploration is a bit sad in my opinion, because this was a nice gift for players, to be able to get lots of items... At least make them available in the shop? I was looking forward to the feral nomad outfit but I can't even spend my manaas for it in the shop??
For the stained glass outfit... I feel a bit iffy about it. I do think that it's quite unfair to make it drop in the map only one year after it was sold for gold coins.
I don't even want to fight for the companions, yes the previous year's ones are here, and yet I've never found one bait for them and 450 manaas is like half of my current manaas to buy in the shop, for no guarantee it will work. No thanks.
The companion we have to actually find dropped early for me, like the 3rd day? Since then I haven't found either him or his bait ever again. Ok.

In conclusion, I am disappointed by this new map you made. I feel like I haven't found anything in it and it just felt like wasting time since it was just poor in items compared to the previous year.


THE MINI STORY
Having a mini story to find the illustration piece is a good idea.
I wasn't really into the story but, hey, thinking our answers could have an impact on our illustrations was fun AT FIRST.
More on that later.
While the story was midly interesting, even though I'm still flabbergasted Miko could have been kidnapped under Valkyon's nose, I could help but getting really out of it when Cornelia appeared. Never mind the fact she looks like she came out of My Bimbo (seriously, the headpiece with the flower the makeup??? I'm pretty sure you can have that whole outfit in this game), the way she was, well not drawn, but the way of shading was just so contrasting??? Idk, it felt like someone working on an entirely different game did this art while looking at pic of the game to have an idea of the style?
Now the big subject. The illustrations.
1) why are they random. Why. I'm pretty sure we all followed the solution that dropped pretty early in the event and the fact that we're not having the same or even the same amount of illustrations is just...
I'M sorry but I believe this is you just disrespecting the players. You say the illustrations depends on our answers. BUT HAVE YOU SEEN THE AMOUNT OF ANSWERS WE HAD TO GIVE?? I HIGHLY doubt you made all of them count during the final tally. And even so, most of us answered the same answers we found AND DIDN'T GET THE SAME RESULT AT ALL. what even???
2) 150 GOLD COINS FOR ONE (1) ILLUSTRATION. Are you kidding me????????? Once again this event, that is supposed to be a bonus, has become a pay to finish event. Once again, I can't get to the bonus companion. It's been a year officially since I started this account, and my only legendary/event companion is the dragon blob one.
Never mind we didn't get the answers correctly. At least give us a way to try again the days we missed by paying manaa???
You are purposely making this event impossible to finish just so we get frustrated and pay, and this tactic is just getting very old and making us only frustrated and not paying.
Because paying doesn't seem to satisfy you anyway.


CONCLUSION OF THIS EVENT
Rip, Halloween event, you will be dearly missed by me.
I'm also officially giving up trying to get legendary event companion because apparently those are only available for gold coins.

(you really forgot you're running a freemium game where paying is only supposed to help you advance faster in the game, and not pay for entire parts of the game smh)
